Where: Ireland, RTE Dublin
When: 2003
Title: Tabla Raza
Description: We were commissioned to carve a piece of Sand sculpture for a television programme in the month of January. Fortunately for us the weather was sunny but cold, the first time we had to contend with frozen sand. The piece is called “Tabla Raza”, meaning blank slate, and it shows the departing of knowledge from the old to the young. It was designed with the tree in the back round which lines up with the hourglass which turns into roots making further allusions to the passing of time as well as knowledge.
